Rev. Dr. Lukas Soko is our current Anne Duncan Gray Visiting Scholar from September through December 2017. Rev. Dr. Soko has been named by United Church global partner, the Council of Churches in Zambia. He is being hosted by Emmanuel College, Victoria University at the University of Toronto. 

Dr. Soko is an ordained Church minister of the Reformed Church in Zambia, a founding member of the Council of Churches in Zambia.The Church is also a member of the All Africa Conference of Churches, the World Council of Churches and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. He is currently a full-time lecturer at Justo Mwale University in Lusaka, Zambia with interests in the area of Practical Theology, and more recently in new emerging Christian expressions in Africa underpinned by the prosperity gospel and their influence on people’s life and faith.While in Canada for his own research, Rev. Dr. Soko is a guest and resource person to the broader church. His time here will include opportunities for mutual learning, in formal and informal settings - as a participant or resource person in selected United Church or ecumenical events. Please keep this in mind as you plan your fall programming.
