Emmanuel Days 2012 - May 9 and 10, 2012
Speaking Gospel in a Fragmented, Spiritually Restless Age
We live in a time when the world bristles with communication, when we may be overwhelmed by messages - Tweets, Facebook exchanges, political rhetoric, rival claims to wisdom and truth. We live in a time when the reliable contexts of preaching - church, biblically aware hearers, stable culture - have eroded.
This event brings preachers and hearers together to explore how the Gospel gets spoken and heard in a fragmented spiritually restless age.
Plenary Speaker, The Rev. Dr. Thomas G Long will explore how preachers can speak gospel with confidence and clarity in the midst of this windstorm. He will be joined by The Rev. Dr. Anthony Bailey and The Rev. Dr. Emily Bissett who will present and lead workshops throughout the event.
Registration information, including online registration form, will be available soon. Questions? Email us at vic.alumni@utoronto.ca, or call 416-585-4500.
