Allof us wishing to live a Spirit-filled life both within and beyond the churchneed time to refresh our spirit and replenish our spiritual resources. Thesefour days of guided retreat are an opportunity to “welcome your soul home” and“let it nourish you.” Sessions willinclude: a variety of prayer practices including movement, stillness, silenceand journalling; discussion in large and small groups, as well as time forindividual reflection, outdoor time, lunch and conversation. A safe space willbe created for participants to bring their honest reflections, experiences andquestions to the group. These days ofrest and restoration are an opportunity to practice much-neededself-compassion.
AnneSimmonds (annesimmonds.ca) is adjunct faculty at Emmanuel College where sheteaches courses on Prayer and Death, Dying and Grieving. She is a giftedretreat and workshop facilitator, spiritual director and pastoral counselor.Formerly Minister of Pastoral Care at Rosedale United Church, former hospitalchaplain and nurse, Anne brings her own personal spiritual practice andexperience of life and ministry to this program.
