This series of four webinars (January 11, 2017, March 29, 2017, May 3, 2017, October 18, 2017) along with two, 2-day workshops (February 24-25 and June 2-3, 2017) offers an opportunity to learn about and experiment with the six holy currencies, which need to flow in order for congregations to meet and maintain their missional potential: Currency of Time and Place, Currency of Gracious Leadership, Currency of Relationship, Currency of Truth, Currency of Wellness, Currency of Money. United Church congregations who are already using this approach will accompany new congregations participating in this workshop series.
Pegi Ridout, Interim Minister at Forest Hill United in Kitchener has this to say about the impact of this program: Two years ago, Forest Hill participated in this series of workshops with Eric Law. I first met Eric at an Interim Ministers Conference a few years ago and came back from just ONE day with him confident that if we could get United Church congregations on board with what he has to offer it would transform our churches and communities.
I can absolutely guarantee that if your congregation sends a team it will be the best $2500 you ever spent! It’s tempting to reduce costs by sending one or two people, but it pays off exponentially to send a team. Six of us went and the generation of ideas, support, differences in leadership styles and priorities has been phenomenal. (Have I used enough superlatives yet?) This is not “just another course”
The workshop days are being hosted by Three Willows United Church in Guelph, 577 Willow Rd, Guelph, ON N1H 7H3. Three Willows participated in the first series of Holy Currency workshops in 2014 and have lots to share from that experience.
Congregational or Presbytery teams of up to six people are ideal, but individuals are also welcome to register. The workshops are also available for on-line participation.
You can find out more about Eric Law at http://www.kscopeinstitute.org/ .Read Eric Law’s book: Holy Currencies: Six Blessings for Sustainable Missional Ministries or his latest book: Holy Currency Exchange for more background.
Check-out these stories from three congregations who participated in the 2014 series and how this has impacted their congregation's mission and ministry.
Costs for the full program are $2500 per team (up to 6) or $500 per individual for the tuition fee and for teams or individuals, an additional $100/pp for food for each of the two, 2-day workshops.
