2018 Winter Registration Instructions - Conjoint Basic Degree Students



Steps to Registration

1.       Update personal contact info on ACORN and include your UtorMail address

2.       Choose 2018 winter session courses 

a.       Refer to the appropriate program checklist in the EC Student Handbook

b.      Refer to the most current EM timetable and Toronto School of Theology (TST) website for course descriptions and syllabi

c.       Ensure that you are choosing courses in the proper sequence and level group

d.      Only 1000-3000 level courses apply to basic degree students

e.      Refer to Designated Electives Guide in student handbook

f.      Maximum winter session load is 2.50 UofT course credits/5.0 TST course credits.  Permission is required for returning students to take a course load of 6.0 TST course credits in one term.

3.     Have the Program Director approve course selection

ADD approved 2018 winter courses on ACORN by December 8, 2017

(Refer to How-to on Course Enrolment)

a.       For the college registrar to ADD on behalf of the student:

                                                               i.     Reading and Research course for students who have approval by the program director (Refer to Policies section of college student handbook) – form must be submitted to the college registrar no later than December 8 for college approval

                                                             ii.     Faculty of Music or Integrative Practicum courses for MSMus students – form must be submitted to the college registrar no later than December 8

b.      Students in the MDiv/MPS combined degree program must ensure that they register for courses under the appropriate program

4.     Pay 2018 winter fees no later than December 14 if you are not a recipient of a college entrance grant

Students who enrol in courses agree by virtue of that enrolment to abide by all of the academic and non-academic policies, rules and regulations of the University and of his or her academic division, as set out in the divisional calendar, and confirm responsibility for payment of associated fees, and agree to ensure that the accuracy of personal information such as the current mailing address, telephone number, and utoronto.ca email address is maintained.

A student's registration is not complete until he or she has paid tuition and incidental fees, or has made appropriate arrangements to pay.  Students who defer fee payment or whose payment is deferred pending receipt of OSAP or other awards, acknowledge that they continue to be responsible for payment of all charges, including any service charges that may be assessed.  For details see the Student Accounts Web site at www.fees.utoronto.ca.


a.      Eligible recipients of the Entering Theological Education Grant or the J.W. Billes Entering Grant will automatically have their fees deferred upon confirmation of course registration on ACORN.  Recipients are expected to pay the 2018 winter portion by February 28.

b.     Recipients of OSAP can request a tuition deferral if they have been approved for government funding and have paid all outstanding financial obligations from previous sessions.

c.     Interested part-time students who begin studying in January 2018 may self-enrol for the UTSU Health and Dental Plan. Please refer to the Emmanuel College Registrar's Office Portal announcements for further instructions.

d.     Upon payment or deferral, a student’s enrollment status will change from INVited to REGistered

e.     There is a reinstatement fee of $150 per session for a student whose winter session INV status changes to FINanically CAncelled and wants to be reinstated for enrollment.

5.     Check the Toronto School of Theology (TST) website for any course cancellations between December 18, 2017 and January 4, 2018

a.       Students are permitted to make changes to their course selection up to January 12, 2018

b.       Refer to the 2017-2018 UofT Refund Schedule for important DROP dates and refund implications

c.      Last day to DROP a HS, YY, HY or YS course without Academic Penalty is March 9, 2018
