Decolonizing Buddhist Studies: Reimagining Knowledge and Practice

About this event: This two-day workshop and lecture series examines how colonialism and racism have shaped Buddhist Studies, especially through historical-critical and linguistic-anthropological methods that emerged during European imperial expansion in Asia. Speakers will interrogate these inherited frameworks, highlight alternative epistemologies, and explore decolonial approaches to research, teaching and practice.
